Olukoya Samuel  |  JAMB Score: 318  |  Engineering — FUTA

Samuel was not always the student his score suggests. When he enrolled at SureSuccess Prevarsity in September of his SS3 year, he was honest with his tutors about where he stood — strong in Mathematics and Physics, shaky in Chemistry, and inconsistent in English. His subject combination for Engineering meant he could not afford a weak link in any of those four.

What Samuel credits most is the weekly Friday test structure. 'Every Friday felt like a small exam,' he said. 'At first I hated it. But it meant I was always reviewing. By the time the real JAMB came, I had sat so many tests that one more felt normal.'

Idris came to SureSuccess Prevarsity with a specific goal and a specific problem. His goal was UI Law — one of the most competitive courses at one of Nigeria's most selective universities. His problem was Government. He understood the concepts when his teacher explained them but blanked during tests, unable to retrieve what he had studied under pressure.

His tutors identified early that Idris was a student who understood more than he could demonstrate — a performance gap that mock exams are specifically designed to close. Medicine at OAU is among the most contested admission slots in Nigerian university education. The UTME cutoff alone is not enough — it must be combined with a strong Post-UTME performance and excellent O'level grades. Her biggest challenge was Biology — specifically the genetics and ecology sections, which she found conceptually dense and hard to remember under pressure. Ifeanyi moved to Akure from Enugu in his SS2 year and enrolled at SureSuccess Prevarsity as a new student in an unfamiliar city. He was strong academically but lacked the local context — he did not know which tutorial centers in Akure were worth his time, which past question sets were most relevant, or how the JAMB CBT software actually worked.

The center's compulsory CBT lab training was, by his account, the single most important part of his preparation. 'I had never used the JAMB software before I came here. Vincent's story is perhaps the most instructive of the five because he came to SureSuccess Prevarsity having already written JAMB once and failed to reach his target score.
